Bayern had quite a few chances through Leroy Sane to put this game out of reach for Freiburg, but the visitors ended up making it 1-1 in the second half off a goal from Nils Petersen. Thomas Muller scored the winning goal 12 minutes later as Bayern avoid another misstep in their Bundesliga campaign to remain at the top of the table, ahead of RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.
