On Thursday 30th March 2023, Rochdale AFC Community Trust alongside Me & You Education and Rochdale Council of Mosques hosted a Community Iftar at Rochdale AFC.
RAFC Community Trust invited both muslims and non-muslims alike to join them at the Crown Oil Arena for a fantastic evening, which included a three course meal!
We spoke to (Imam) Irfan Chishti, MBE, Founder of Me & You Education, about the event and how important events like this are in helping to create a cohesive community.
Charlotte Griffiths, Head of Grant Funded Projects at Rochdale AFC Community Trust also spoke to us as she reflected on a positive event and the importance of bringing people together.
Oulder Hill Leadership Academy Principal, Likhon Muhammad, was a first-time visitor to this event at the Crown Oil Arena after recently moving to the borough. He spoke about how this event differs from one's he's been to previously as well as touching on the importance of him being there and what he could learn and gain from the event.
