On the face of it, French football is in pretty good shape. France are the reigning UEFA Nations League champions, ranked second in the FIFA World Rankings, and they have reached four out of the last seven FIFA World Cup finals, meanwhile Ligue 1 is one of Europe's top five leagues, and is home to the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Neymar, and Lionel Messi.
But behind the scenes lies a murkier side of the French game, which includes allegations of corruption, misconduct, and abuse, implicating some of the biggest names in French football.
So in this documentary, HITC Sevens attempts to peel behind the curtain, taking a look at some very well-documented and some much less known scandals and controversies in Ligue 1 and at the French Football Federation.
