With big sides like Liverpool underperforming, and others like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Real Madrid enduring inconsistent campaigns, plenty of players have disappointed this season, and so today on FD we’re bringing you our worst XI of the year. Some players on our team are simply not good enough for their current club, like Borussia Dortmund’s Roman Burki, while others have failed to make good on early promise, like Marco Asensio and Manchester United’s Anthony Martial. We also find space for Roberto Firmino, poor transfers like Willian at Arsenal and Matt Doherty at Tottenham, and key players from relegated outfits like Schalke and Sheffield United.
