With money tight across the continent, teams will need to take chances, and in this video, we’re looking at 10 of the biggest gambles among this summer’s completed signings and transfer rumours.
This includes Antoine Griezmann, who is being linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid. While Wolves winger Adama Traoré is also thought to be interested in a reunion with his old boss at Spurs. Other names include Merih Demiral, who has replaced Cristian Romero at Atalanta. The Serie A defender of the year joins Tottenham, while their North London rivals Arsenal have splashed the cash on Ben White, a gamble perhaps for a player with only one Premier League season on his record. A player that might join him at the Emirates is Tammy Abraham, who is out of favour at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are also looking to replace him with Romelu Lukaku, but are taking a risk on the Belgian, as they would most likely lose out on Erling Haaland in the process.
Kieran Trippier is being touted for a move to Manchester United, but Solskjaer should be concerned at his last season in the Premier League, where he struggled at Spurs. The Lilywhites have sold Erik Lamela to Sevilla, with Bryan Gil going the other way - a move that makes little sense for the Spanish side. Another playing heading for a exit at Tottenham is Davinson Sanchez, who is being lined up as a replacement for Jules Kounde. And finally we shine a light on Hector Bellerin’s proposed move to Inter Milan, despite the Spaniard being injury prone and not the player he once was.
