Chelsea have spent £475 million on transfers during the 2022-23 season, recruiting the likes of Benoît Badiashile, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, and they show few signs of slowing down.
It is the highest spending season in the history of the Premier League, and by some margin, which has surprised those who expected Chelsea's transfer expenditure to slow down following the departure of Roman Abramovich, replaced by a consortium led by Todd Boehly.
