With both sides registering wins in their first Pool D matches of Rugby World Cup 2023, England and Japan collided in Nice. In a scrappy and frantic affair, the Brave Blossoms kept up with the Red Roses scoring pace, but never quite managed to take control. In latter stages of the match England pressed home their dominance and extended the lead. As the final whistle sounded, England had secured a big 34-12 victory.
