The Owls Under-18s were back to winning ways on Saturday at Wigan.
In-from striker Devlan Moses struck a brace while Ari-Jae Shaw was also on target in a 3-2 win at Christopher Park.
After slipping to a first defeat of the season last week against table-toppers Birmingham, the Wednesday youngsters dusted themselves down and issued the perfect response.
Northern Ireland youth international Moses gave the Owls a lead after just six minutes with a crisp low finish from outside the box.
Wigan, who went into the clash with six defeats from six, fought their way back into the game and levelled midway through the first half.
Then 15 minutes from time, Shaw regained the advantage for the visitors, guiding the ball low into the net through a crowd of players after excellent play from Bruno Fernandes on the left flank.
Moses seemingly wrapped up the points on 83 minutes with sharp turn and finish inside the box and, despite a second goal for Wigan three minutes later, Wednesday saw out the contest to claim the points and climb to second spot in the table.
Owls: Philips, Rodrigues, Johnson, Hunt, Swales, Emery, Remy-Dee (Shaw 61), Thornton, Moses, Fernandes, Weston
